Greetings Brethren All,
We are in an unprecedented time with a surreal epidemic in our midst. While the light at the end of the tunnel is still very dim, we all look forward to the day we will overcome this peril. It is the time for all of us to reach out, support and keep in touch with each other. Many of our brothers have lost their jobs and many have fallen ill. Life’s twists and turns are innumerable. Our Masonic community has reacted in concert with the rest of society in our response to the epidemic. Specifically, our lodge has suspended all masonic activities through the end of April. We cancelled all practices, schools of instruction and communication meetings. The district annual dinner sched- uled for April 18, has been postponed and the Grand lodge has cancelled the Annual Communication scheduled in May. Farewell my brothers and stay strong, stay level headed, and most of all, stay home. S & F W...Andy Papademetriou Master, White Plains Lodge No. 473 F & AM Greetings Brethren All,

Our meetings in October were well attended. The masonic education topic was a discussion of the new optional lodge closing charge adopted in the latest edition of the NY cypher. The visit of the District Deputy Grand Master was well received, and the topic presented by the DDGM was the process of balloting. Preparations are under way for the Fellow Craft degree scheduled for Nov 6. On Dec 4 we will have an Entered Apprentice degree. Currently 3 candidates are scheduled to be initiated. The First Wednesday of January falls on the 1st. The lodge will be dark on 5the day and resume on January 15. We plan to have a Pre Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday November 20th which will replace our regular communication meeting, provided we have sufficient attendance, ($ 15/person). The event is open to Masons, family and friends. If we do not get enough RSVPs, we will have the regular Stated Communication meeting. If you would like to attend, please respond to Matt Palazola no later than November 13. Our traditional holiday luncheon has been confirmed by our Secretary RW Vincent Cunzio for Dec 8, 2019 at 2 pm to about 4:30 pm at Casaletto’s Ristorante in Elmsford. Announcement and RSVP directions will follow. I would like to remind the Entered Apprentices that they need to be attending lodge regularly while making proficiency in order to be passed to the next degree. Make sure you are in contact with school of instruction Bro. Ramon Viruete. S & F W... Andy Papademetriou Master, White Plains Lodge No. 473 F & A Greetings Brethren All,
We started the 2019/2020 Masonic year with our first Stated Communication on Sept 18, including a surprise visit by the District Deputy Grand Master R. .W. . Michael D. Grenadier and the Grand Sword Bearer R. .W. . William Keindl. The meeting was well attended and we reviewd many of the lodge initiatives for the coming year including approval of the lodge budget. The District Deputy Grand Master’s official visit to out Lodge is scheduled for October 16. The meeting will start 30 minutes earlier at 7:30 pm. Please plan accordingly. We have a Fellow Craft degree scheduled for Nov 6. The max number of candidates to 5. The Brothers scheduled to be passed at this ceremony must prove their proficiency and other qualifications by Oct 16. Please contact Bro. Ramon Viruete, chair of the School of Instruction. On Dec 4 we have an Entered Apprentice degree. Again the maximum number of Cabdidates is limited to 5. Please contact Bro Senior Warden Andrew Lovato or me, to partake in the delivery of the degrees. Lastly, if you plan to partake in our collations, please RSVP to Brother Anthony Fella. A donation is requested. S &F W...Andy Papademetriou Master, White Plains Lodge No. 473 F & A M Greetings Brethren All, The summer is almost over and our Masonic year will start with our first Stated Communication meeting on September 19. Looking ahead for the next few months, we have a busy schedule, starting with the District Deputy Grand Master’s official visit to out Lodge on October 16. We have a Fellow Craft degree scheduled for Nov 6, followed by an Entered Apprentice degree Dec 4. Please contact Bro Senior Warden Andrew Lovato for the FC degree and Bro Junior Warden R.’. W.’. Romy Quasada for the EA degree, if you able to participate in these degrees. One of our goals for the coming year is to have a well-done ritual for opening/closing the Lodge and the conducting the De- grees. We encourage and like all brothers to participate in the degree work. In support of this goal we have formulated a Drama Team responsible for performing the Third-Degree Drama headed by Bro. Brian Lattore and W.’. Raphael Wong as the ritual director. This is a great activity for all MM involvement. In support of the Masonic Historical Society and the maintenance and renovation of our lodge building we formed a Building Renovation Planning Committee headed by Bro. Ernie Perez which will be responsible in generating a long-term building renovation plan. Collation dinners will continue to be free this year. This makes your RSVP crucial for our planning. We recognize that the collation dinner is a great way to socialize and be in communion with each other and we encourage all to participate. For this year we will adopt the following: The master is requesting in lieu of a fixed price for collations, that the brothers taking part in the collation, make a $10-15 dollar donation according to the length of their cable tow. Birthdays will be celebrated at the meeting of the third Wednesday each month, after lodge closing. Make sure you do not miss your own birthday celebration. The degree work for the ensuing year is enormous as we have 3 persons in the NorthStar Program, 1 person Awaiting the EA degree, and 15 Bros awaiting the degree of Fellow Craft. We have scheduled 2 EA, 2 FC, 1 MM and 1 make-up degree nights through the year. We will limit each class to no more than 5 Bros. Necessary qualifications for being passed to the degree of FC and raised to the MM degree are Degree Proficiency, 50% minimum attendance for the previous 3 months, and volunteer work in the collation hall, setting up and cleaning up. Looking forward to the coming year. S &F W...Andy Papademetriou Master, White Plains Lodge No. 473 F & A M |
