It is my sad duty to report the passing of R:.W:.James Holden, Jr. on April 27, 2022. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Holden family in their time of sorrow.

R:.W:.James Holden, Jr was District Deputy Grand Master of the Second Westchester-Putnam Masonic District from 2010 - 2012.
He was a dear friend to all who knew him, and a true example of square Brother. He will be deeply missed.

Jim was also the Past Master of White Plains Lodge #473.

He was a cornerstone and pillar of the Lodge and a mentor to many. It goes without saying that he was one of the greatest Brothers to have been raised in White Plains Lodge #473.

While Jim had much wiser words than these, these words in particular always stayed with me personally for their pragmatic and esoteric wisdom:

‘SPEAK FROM THE DIAPHRAGM, WITH BOOOOTH LUNGS!! SO EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOU.’

Rest in peace, dear Brother!

Brethren,

I was sadly informed of Bro. Spoddig's passing by W.'. Howard Theall.  Please keep his family in your prayers as we remember and recognize his faithful years of service to our Fraternity.  As we know well from our teachings, he is with the G.A.O.T.U. in the realms of eternity.

W.·. Manton Martin
Born 1/1/1917 - Died 6/3/2017, Aged 100
55 Year Mason
Initiated 10/12/1962 American Lodge of Research No. 9009
Passed 11/9/1962
Raised 11/23/1962

Brethren,

With heavy heart and deep sadness it becomes my duty at this time to inform you that our Brother W.'. Manton Martin has passed away. He was one of our eldest brothers in the Craft, and active in our lodge well into his nineties I believe he was just shy of 100 when he passed away. I remember well his presentation of my apron on my initiation only a few years ago.

Bro. Martin was initiated on 10/12/1962 at American Lodge of Research, Lodge No. 9009 and raised on 11/23/1962.

He was a Past Master of Scarsdale Lodge which eventually merged with White Plains by way of Daniel D. Tompkins Lodge.

Our good and faithful brother departed this life to meet the GAOTU on Sunday June 4, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in Manny's memory to the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory.
